Question:

1. If one misses the Jumu'ah (Friday prayer) service due to passing of wind, can he go to another mosque to observe the prayer?
2. What is Islamic Fiqh?

Answer:

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

If a person misses Jumu'ah prayer because of the invalidation of his Wudu, he has to try to attend it in another mosque, if he knows that he can arrive on time for it, as it is obligatory to attend Friday prayer. If a person misses it in one mosque he has to endeavor to attend it in another mosque.

As regards the Islamic Fiqh, in Arabic language it means understanding.

Islamic Fiqh in the view of Muslim scholars is the knowledge of Islamic jurisprudence rulings, such as the Haram and the Halal, the disliked and the wajib, the desirable, and those derived from the book of Allah, and the Sunnah of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) the consensus of the scholars, and the analogy.

As this knowledge is taken from the Islamic Jurisprudence evidences, so it is called the Islamic Fiqh, i.e., Islamic legislation is its source.

Allah knows best.
