Our Masjid has three floors. The Imam gives Friday Khutba in the basement. The second floor has an extention in which some people (may pray) a few meters in front of the Imam in the basement. Is it permissible to do so?

Where I reside there is no mosque near to me. But, there is a prayer hall beside my house where five daily prayers are performed. I performed all five prayers there but some friends have objections saying that it is not a mosque and the place is not dedicated for prayers, so, I will not get the same reward as if I prayed in a mosque.
