Enjoining good and forbidding evil during Tawaaf is permissible, not considered arguing

Question

During Tawaaf, I saw a pilgrim near me beating another one with his leg. I stopped him with my hand and said to him: "Why are you doing that to your brother?" Thereupon, he wanted to beat me on my face with his shoe without saying any word. I said to him: "Sufficient for me Is Allaah and He Is The Best Disposer of affairs." Then he drew the shoe from my face and went away. Please note that I forgot the forbiddance to avoid dispute during Hajj. I just wanted to forbid evil. Am I guilty for this? Have I violated Sharee‘ah?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

What you have mentioned in the question is not included in the forbidden dispute or disobedience during Hajj. Rather, you have fulfilled the obligation of enjoining good and forbidding evil. We ask Allaah to Reward your for that, accept your Hajj and appreciate your endeavor.

Allaah Knows best.
