Asalaam alaikum Sheikh, Some scholars say that if women has an orgasm or reaches sexual climax she should perform ghusl even if there is no discharge of fluid.I wanted to ask your opinion on this issue.Jazakallah
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
If the matter which you referred to above happens due to sexual intercourse, then it is an obligation to perform Ghusl even if there was no ejaculation, because it is an obligation to perform Ghusl when the man’s penis enters the woman’s vagina as we clarified in Fataawa 87341 and 91589.
If it happens without sexual intercourse and there is no ejaculation, then it is not obligatory to perform Ghusl according to the view of many scholars as the Prophet said: “It is with the seminal emission that Ghusl becomes obligatory.” [Muslim]
However, many other jurists are of the view that if a man or a woman felt the sperm moving, even if it did not come out (of the private parts), then it is obligatory to perform Ghusl. This is the view of the Maaliki and Hanbali Schools of jurisprudence, and it is better to act according to their view in order to be in the safe side and avoid the differences of opinion.
Allaah Knows best.
