im working in ksa and my father in anther country but now he is very very ill and i need to go see him but my manger in work refused
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
The father has an immense status, and doing well to him is one of the most pious acts. There is no doubt that if you are able to travel to your father and to visit him, such is part of dutifulness to him and keeping ties with him. Please, refer to Fataawa 82254 and 84942, both about the excellence of dutifulness to one’s parents and their status in Islamic law.
So, do your best and seek help from Allaah The Exalted through supplication and humility toward Him hoping that He might soften the heart of your manager to let you travel. If you have someone who could successfully plead on your behalf, let him do so. If he is satisfied and agrees, then all praise be to Allaah. If not, then keep contact with your father, inquire about his condition, comfort him, make his heart happy, and do as much as you can to help him. All of this is included in keeping ties with him.
We ask Allaah, Lord of Mankind, to remove his illness and to cure him. He is the Curer and there is no cure but His cure to eliminate sickness.
Allaah Knows best.
