Assalaamu alaykum. Is this authentic? Simak narrates that he met Abdullah ibn ‘Abbaas in Madinah after he had lost his eyesight, and he asked him, "[Tell me about the] clothes of Paradise." Ibn ‘Abbaas answered, "There is one tree in Paradise which will bear fruits similar to a pomegranate. When a friend of Allah will desire clothes, the tree will automatically present 70 pairs of clothes to him, each with a different color. [After he has chosen what he desires,] the tree will go back to its place." [Ibn Abi Ad-Dunya]
All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
Al-Munthiri said in At-Targheeb about the mentioned hadeeth that it was cited by Ibn Abi Ad-Dunya with a Hasan (good) chain of narration that is Mawqoof (i.e. stops at the level of the Companion).
However, Al-Albaani classified it as Dha‘eef (weak) in Dha'eef Al-Jaami' (no. 2200). He said, when commenting on the statement of Al-Munthiri, that its chain of narration is Hasan, "How could it be Hasan while it includes Zumayl ibn Simaak, who was not considered as trustworthy by anyone and he is only known by this narration."
Allah knows best.
