Fatwa CenterPunishing Oppressed disbelievers is not Injustice
Question
Scholars,lately, i've been struggling with the issues of non muslims going to hell. I mean, there are like millions of non-muslim suffering throughout the world (yazidis, christians, hindus, etc) alongside muslims as well. I mean with muslims, I guess it reassuring knowing they enter heaven but for non muslims, i struggle with it. I mean, i feel cruel for thinking despite suffering in this life, they suffer even worse in the next and like i'm disregarding my compassion for them just due to their beliefs and I am just like, oh, too bad, so sad,which I can't help but feel is cruel. what do you think?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
In our view, you should remember two important matters in order to repel those whispers:
Firstly, is that Allah has forbidden injustice upon Himself, and that He does not wrong anyone, neither in this world nor in the Hereafter. Allah Says (what means): {Indeed, Allah does not do injustice, [even] as much as an atom's weight.} [Quran 4:40]
You should also ponder on the Islamic texts of the Quran and the Sunnah in this regard.
Secondly, is that Allah does not punish any of His creation except after establishing evidence against them. It is for this reason that Allah sent Messengers and revealed Books. Allah Says (what means): {And never would We punish until We sent a messenger.} [Quran 17:15]
Ibn al-Qayyim 
said in his book Tareeq Al-Hijratayn wa Baab As-Sa’aadatayn:
"A person becomes deserving of punishment due to two reasons:
1- Turning away from the evidence and refusing it, and refusing to act according to it and its implications.
2- Being stubborn against it [evidence] after it has been established and abandoning its implications.
The first is the disbelief of turning away; the second is the disbelief of stubbornness. As regards the disbelief due to ignorance while the evidence is not established, and one was not able to know it, then this is the type which Allah negated punishment for until the evidence of the Messengers is established against the person."
