Fatwa CenterHis Account Got Hacked and Hacker Offered Him Money Every Month to Use That Account
Question
My reddit (social media platform) account got hacked a few days ago and the person who overtook the account is a female who is using my account to sell adult services. She has offered me some money every month to use that account and to compensate for my loss. My question is, 'IS THAT MONEY HALAL OR HARAM?'
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
The basic principle is to prevent and prohibit hacking websites and pages – on Facebook or other well-known social networking sites – because it violates the rights of others.
Whoever takes the account of another, then his ruling is the same as that of the usurper; he must guarantee the account that he violated (usurped), and the damage that resulted from its seizure, if occurred, if the usurped account was from what is customary used to lease or sell goods through it or the like.
Based on this, if you agree with that woman on a way to compensate you for the losses you suffered because of her usurpation of your account, there is nothing wrong with that. Then, if you see (after compensating you for the losses) that you lease your account to her in exchange for an amount of money that you both agree on, then that is permissible if you specify the lease period.
