Is it permissible to sell services to barbers to increase their bookings? Note these barbers are in the USA and are non Muslim
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad (ﷺ) is His Slave and Messenger.
The basic principle is that it is permissible to deal with such barbers by providing them with lawful services that they use to promote or grow their business, so long as the majority of their work does not consist of matters that contradict the Islamic law.
However, if it is predominant that the benefit they derive from what is provided to them will be used in impermissible ways, then it is not permissible to engage in such dealings.
It was stated by Muhammad ibn Ali al-Shawkani
in As-Sayl al-Jarrar: “In conclusion, if the predominant use of what is sold is for a prohibited benefit, then it is not permissible to sell it.” [End quote.]
Allah Knows best.
