In the Name of Allaah The Most-Merciful The Ever-Merciful,
I would like to ask about a woman staying overnight at the home of her maternal aunt who is married and has no children. Is it permissible to do so? Does the husband have the right to prevent her? May Allaah Reward you.
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
It is permissible for a woman to stay overnight at the home of her maternal, paternal aunt or the like provided that she has the permission of her husband. Also, the place where she stays should be safe so that there will be no possibility of sitting in seclusion with a non-Mahram man.
However, if the husband does not give her permission or the place is not safe in terms of temptation or intermixing between the two sexes, then it is impermissible to stay there.
Allaah Knows best.
