Is it the ways of the Sunnah to perform the following:
*Tahlil gathering with reading of the Surah Ya-seen every Thursday night?
* Reading the last 13 Surah of the Qur'aan after the reading of the Qur'aan every night?
* Reading Surah Ya-seen every morning to start the day?
* Is there any Hadeeth Saheeh to confirm all the above is practiced? Or is it considered a Bida'h if performed of own accord?
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
None of the practices that have been mentioned in the question are from the Sunnah. The Prophet and his companions never did such things. The Prophet said: "Whoever introduces into this faith of ours (Islam) something which is not a part of it, it will be rejected." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
In another narration: "Whoever performs an act which is not in accordance with our faith, it will be rejected."
Allaah knows best.
