I have a question regarding Katib ul Kateeb. If both couples have already done Kutb Al-Kitab and both parents from some reason change their minds and both the male and female continue with the marriage without blessings from spouse's parents. Would this be considered Haraam or would it be considered as eloping. Can you please verify from an Islamic point of view.
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
We do not know what you mean by your statement "Kaatib ul Kateeb".
If you mean that the marriage was completed fulfilling all the conditions of an Islamic marriage, then the man and woman are considered as a husband and wife Islamicly. So, they can live with each other and deserve all the marital rights unless the divorce occurs between them.
To know the conditions of a marriage to be valid Islamicly read our Fatwa: 83629.
If you mean that there was no marriage contract but it was only an engagement for marriage then it is not considered marriage and therefore they should behave as unmarried persons towards each other.
To know the rulings of fiancé and fiancée read our Fatwa: 81668.
Parents have great rights on their children, one should not disobey them in lawful matters. Read our Fatwa: 89078.
Allaah Knows best.
