A menstruating woman collecting her lost hair to wash it at the end of her menses

Question:

assalamu alaikum
is it mentioned in the sunnah of our beloved prophet muhammed [s.a.s] thta a mensturarting women need to collect all her lost hair during the days and then wash it at the end of the days when we purify ourselves ? as this has been the practise from a group of people here in india ...
Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

 

The act that you mentioned in the question has no evidence in the Sunnah becasue it is not confirmed that the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) ordered it. Also, it is not confirmed that any of the female companions may Allaah be pleased with them ever did so.

Therefore, the Muslim women should avoid doing this act because it is an innovation that is not from the religion of Allaah and the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: “Whoever does an act that is not in accordance with ours (Islam), it will be rejected.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
