All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
It is not permissible for a woman to travel to non-Muslim countries without a necessity, like for medical treatment and the like, as this often leads to a great danger on her religion and moral conduct because those countries claim freedom (freedom of immorality) and do not forbid evil, especially if that woman is not married as it is feared that she will commit evil acts because there are so many temptations and causes of dissoluteness and immorality; for more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 90207.
Similarly, it is not permissible for a woman to go out of her home to work or else with forbidden clothing that shapes her body and does not cover it properly. For more benefit on the pre-conditions for a woman to work, please refer to Fatwa 83607.
As regards her money, it is lawful if her job is permissible, i.e. if she does not sell what is forbidden or help in doing so, and you are permitted to eat from her earnings and benefit from the money that she sends to you. However, you should advise and admonish her and clarify the ruling of the Sharee’ah about what she does so that she would fear Allaah and repent to Him as religion is advice. Allaah Says (what means): {O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are [appointed] angels, harsh and severe; they do not disobey Allaah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded.}[Quran 66:6]
Allaah Knows best.
