All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
We are not aware of any evidence that clarifies how the position of the bed should be when sleeping, but the jurists stated that it is desirable for a sleeping person to be in a position like one's position in the grave, which is that his face should be turned in the direction of the Qiblah. Ar-Ruhaybaani from the Hanbali School of jurisprudence, said: “And his face should be turned towards the Qiblah in the same manner a dead person is laid in the grave.”
As regards pointing the feet in the direction of the Qiblah, this is permissible, Allaah willing, as we clarified in Fatwa 90227.
However, some scholars of the Hanafi School are of the view that it is disliked to deliberately point one’s feet in the direction of the Qiblah while sleeping, but they did not mention any evidence for this. For more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 90183.
Allaah Knows best.
