Her non-Muslim mother takes interest from bank and wants to help her

Question:

Assalam wa alykum My friend is a revert muslim and wants to know that is it permissible to take money from her non muslim mother who really wants to help her? she says that her mother takes interest from bank snd will be upset if she says no to her. Jazaallahukhair.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

It is permissible for your friend to take what her mother gives her even though her mother deals with Riba (interest and/or usury).
