Question:
I was offering the first Rak ‘ah of the Friday prayer and, while the Imaam was reciting Al-Faatihah, there was a boy standing next to me. Much to my surprise, the boy fell on his face unconscious. The weather was very hot so I found myself obliged to make Tasleem and stop my prayer. I carried the boy out of the mosque and tried to get him to recover his senses until the prayer ended. When the boy became conscious, I offered the Thuhr prayer instead of the Friday prayer. Is there any sin in this?
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.
Actually, you did the right thing. This is because stopping prayer in this case is obligatory on the one who stands next to this boy so as to save his life. Also, if someone misses the Friday prayer, he should pray Thuhr instead.
Allaah Knows best.
