Does the sunnah tell us something about the position of the kitchen when building a house?

Question:

Assalamu Alaykum. In islam is it true to built a house as per the belief that the kitchen should be at the corner and its windows facing east. Also that the main gate of the house should either face north or east. So does these guidelines exist in islam and if yes then send me the detailed guidelines in accordance with the hadith and quran. Actually i dont trust these things but many muslims here in india trust these things. Assalamu Alaykum.

What you mentioned in the question has no foundation in the Sharee’ah (Islamic law); rather, these might just be superstitions so one should be careful about this. However, if the matter is free from wrong notions and beliefs, and it is based on particular benefits that are based on something tangible or experience, like the advantage of ventilation of air or access to sunlight (into the house, rooms), then it is permissible to do so.
