Religious rulings can not be based on dreams

Question:

Is it lawful to depend on visions and dreams when deriving rulings?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.

It is impermissible to depend on visions in issuing religious rulings because dreams are not one of the sources of legislation in Islam.
