All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
The name of Mary Magdalene was not mentioned in the Quran. However, some books of Tafseer (interpretation of the Quran) have mentioned her among those who believed in ‘Eesa (Jesus) . Shaykh Taahir ibn ‘Aashoor said in his Tafseer (At-Tahreer wat-Tanweer) regarding the saying of Allaah The Almighty (which means): {Then the factions differed [concerning Jesus] from among them.} [Quran 19: 37], "It means that some of them believed in ‘Eesa and those are Yahya ibn Zakariyya, Maryam the mother of ‘Eesa, the twelve disciples, and some women such as Mary Magdalene, and a few others, while the majority of Jews disbelieved in him."
