Wants to stop her husband from contact with illegitimate son

Question:

Asalaamualaykum my husband have a christian eligitimate son and is eager to build a relationship with him is it wrong of me as his wife to deny him to see that child or to build a relationship
Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His Slave and Messenger.

First of all, it should be mentioned that a child born from Zina (fornication or adultery) does not bear the name of and has no relation to the fornicator or adulterer. He or she bears the name of the mother as we have already clarified in Fataawa 85430 and 84788.

However, if your husband wants to be kind to that child and look after him, then he may do so, as this is a voluntary act of worship and Allaah loves those who are kind to others. Therefore, you have no right to prevent him from being kind.

Nevertheless, he has to be careful not to fall into temptation with the child's mother as a consequence of his kindness to the child. There is nothing better than staying on the safe side when it comes to religion.
