Hadeeth about applying honey to the hair

Question:

Hadith about applying honey for hair, can you explain the method of applying please?
Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

We could not find any Hadeeth pertaining to applying honey to the hair except for a report Abu Daawood may Allaah have mercy upon him  cited in his Sunan and Al-Haakim may Allaah have mercy upon him in Mustadrak. The report reads, "The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, matted his hair with honey." Al-Albaani declared this report inauthentic.
