All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
Scholars of Tafseer, including At-Tabari, mentioned that Ibn Jurayj commented on the verse that reads (what means): {Their call therein will be, "Exalted are You, O Allah," and their greeting therein will be, "Peace." And the last of their call will be, "Praise to Allah, the Lord of the worlds!"} [Quran 10:10]
He said:
"If a bird passes by the People of Paradise and they wish for it, they say, 'Subhaanak Allaahumma (Exalted are You, O Allah),' and the angel would serve them what they crave; thereupon the angel greets them and they greet him back. This is the meaning of {and their greeting therein will be, 'Peace.'} When they eat, they shall praise their Lord. This is the meaning of {And the last of their call will be, 'Praise to Allah, the Lord of the worlds!'} Qataadah commented on the verse, saying, 'Whenever they want something, they say, 'Subhaanak Allaahumma,' and what they want will be brought to them.'"
Al-Baghawi said in his Tafseer, "Scholars of Tafseer said that this expression is a sign between the People of Paradise and the servants regarding food. Whenever they want food, they say, 'Subhaanak Allaahumma,' and the servants immediately bring them what they crave on the tables."
Allah knows best.
