All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
The student's intention should be seeking to win the pleasure of Allah, The Exalted, in all cases. The fact that he strives in studying and memorizing the required parts as instructed by the teacher so that he would be able to carry out the required assignments and that he feels embarrassed to be neglectful and lazy before his teacher, urging him to strive and work harder, does not contradict his sincerity and good intention in studying the Quran. This is acceptable and serves his original objective, and it does not contradict it.
Allah knows best.
