Question:
Assalamu alaikkum . I am hanafi according to Hanafis oath of disbelief considered as kufr if I made oath saying I will become kaafir if do such thing and if I believe that I will become kaafit by doing that or if I really intend that will become kaafir by doing that I will become kaafir . So I believed and I broke the oath . So I made tawba. Said sahadha again. My question here is I made oath as I will become kaafir whenever I do such thing . I broke it once and I made tawba . Now will I become kaafir whenever I do that such thing or oath only broke I won’t become kaafir after breaking it once. ? Please tell me according to hanafi rullinga
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
We have already received this question from you, and we responded to you with Fatwa 374413.
We want to add here the matter about the repetition of the expiation due to the repetition of breaking the oath; the jurists of the Hanafi School stated that the oath is invalidated by the existence of the condition only once, with the exception of if one says ‘every time [I do this]’; in which case, the expiation is repeated every time one breaks the oath.
Allah knows best.
