Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

First of all, we ask Allah to enable us and you to do what is good and guide us; and enable us to be keen on what pleases the Most Merciful and to avoid what causes His Wrath.

We recommend that you persist in supplicating Allah as it is with the supplication that people achieve what is desired and avoid what is feared. Allah responds to the supplication of the desperate and repels evil, as He informed us in His Book about Himself Saying (what means): {Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there a deity with Allah? Little do you remember.} [Quran 27:62]

It is not true that you will not find happiness except in looking at what is forbidden and enjoying that, as this violates the Sharee'ah. This is just an illusion from you, whereas the truth is otherwise. The way to rescue yourself from it is easy if you are adamant and you are sincere to your Lord about this. Allah Says (what means): {…if they had been true to Allah, it would have been better for them.} [Quran 47:21]

Besides, the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said to one of his Companions: “If you are sincere with Allah, Allah will fulfill your wish.” At the end of the Hadeeth, the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said about this Companion: “He was sincere with Allah, so Allah fulfilled his wish.” [An-Nasaa’i]

You should realize that the Command to lower the gaze is the Command of Allah Who created you, and He is the one Who bestows His Blessing and Grace on you. Allah Says (what means): {… And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof….} [Quran 24:31]

This verse warns that not lowering the gaze is a means to something greater and more serious, which is committing Zina (fornication or adultery). What if this matter leads you to commit Zina? What if you die while committing evil and you meet Allah while He is angry with you?

An enjoyment of one moment may result in regret for the rest of your life.

If the Devil whispers to you to engage in forbidden looking, then remember that the sight of Allah to you is faster than your look at what is forbidden, and that He had appointed angels who record your deeds. Allah Says (what means): {Or do they think that We hear not their secrets and their private conversations? Yes, [We do], and Our messengers are with them recording.} [Quran 43:80]

The reality of happiness in this world lies in faith and obedience to Allah, as well as in mentioning Him. Allah Says (what means):

·   {Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do.} [Quran 16:97]

·   {Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured."} [Quran 13:28]

Perhaps if you wake up from your heedlessness that is caused by the devil, you will realize that fulfilling the rights of your husband, children and home are sources of happiness.
