All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
Merely owning a book that includes Kufr (disbelief) is not Kufr. Narrating Kufr is not Kufr by itself; this is according to the consensus of the scholars.
Ibn Muflih said in al-Furoo’:
“A person who relates Kufr that he heard of and which he does not believe in does not become a Kaafir (disbeliever); perhaps this is a consensus among the scholars.” [End of quote]
It is with greater reason that the mere acquisition of books that include Kufr is not Kufr.
We advise you to avoid whispers and not be preoccupied by them.
Moreover, whoever does not have a valid purpose in acquiring such books, then he should not acquire them.
