Celebrating Prophet's Birthday Is an Innovation

Question:

What is the fatwa on reciting Mawleed un Nabhi on day of meelad un Nabi Prophet Muhammad?
Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

It is not permissible to celebrate the Prophet's birthday or any other's birthday. If such a celebration were a good thing, the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) his Companions, and their followers would have done it before us. ( may Allaah be pleased with them all). This is a clear indication that each and every celebration of birthday is an innovation.
