Intercourse after Breaking Fast

Question:

I am newly married young man of 25. My wife and I love each other very much. When after Iftar can I have intercourse with my wife. Please help me in this matter.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

After sunset in Ramadan, Muslims are allowed to break their fast by drinking, eating or having sexual intercourse. In fact, they are allowed to do all the lawful matters that were forbidden for them during daytime in Ramadan. They can start with sexual intercourse, with drinking or with eating; there is no restriction concerning what to start with.
