Abbreviations used for the Prophet and his Companions

Question:

Is it right to use abbreviations like: Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), other Prophets (AS), Companions (RA)?
Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

 

As for using abbreviations such as sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) (AS), and (RAA), it is disliked according to a group of scholars including Ibn As-Salah and An-Nawawi may Allaah have mercy upon them.
