Music and Wudu

Question:

Did your Wudu break if you listen to music, why or why not?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

 

Listening to music is forbidden but it does not invalidate ablution. There is no evidence from the Qur'an or the Sunnah that music invalidates ablution. Indeed, neither the four Imaams nor the scholars either the contemporary ones or in the early days, have ever said this.
