All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
Ibn Hajar Al-Haythami was asked about nutmeg and he forbade it because it intoxicates and dopes. It is confirmed that the Prophet said: "Any kind of intoxicant is considered alcohol and every kind of alcoholic drinks (intoxicants) are forbidden." [Muslim] Al-Haythami attributed the view that it is forbidden to Ibn Daqeeq Al-'Eed saying: 'The late comers of the Shaafi'ee and Maaliki schools reported this view from him and ruled according to it, and this is enough evidence.' Moreover, he [Al-Haythami ()] also stated that the Hanbali school agreed to the view of the two afore-mentioned schools according to a text of Ibn Taymiyyah.
Allaah knows best.
