All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
Among the conditions for the validity of marriage is the consent and permission of the guardian of the bride as the Prophet said: "Any woman who gets married without the consent of her guardian, her marriage is invalid, her marriage is invalid, her marriage is invalid." [Abu Daawood and At-Tirmithi]. So the permission of the guardian is a condition for the validity of marriage contract. However, the permission of the woman should also be sought as it is not permissible for a guardian to marry off the woman without her consent. His consent does not mean that he is permitted to oblige her to marry whom she is not pleased with. Indeed her permission should be sought whether she is virgin or not as the Prophet said: "The permission of a virgin woman should be sought." [Muslim].
So, if she refuses to marry, it is not permissible to oblige her according to the most preponderant opinion of the scholars. Therefore, it is not permissible for your father to marry you off without your consent. You should try to convince him to choose a righteous man for you, and if a competent religious man with a good moral character proposes to marry you and your father objects, then it is permissible for you to take your matter to an Islamic court or to the nearest Islamic centre so that the Imaam of Muslims would marry you off.
Finally, we ask Allaah to make a way out to your situation and you should supplicate Him as much as possible as He Says (which means): {Call upon Me; I will respond to you.}[Quran 40:60].
Allaah Knows best.
