Concealing white marks in her body from the person who proposed to marry her

Question:

I am twenty two years old; I am fat and weigh eighty kilograms. My obesity caused the appearance of some white marks in my body, and someone proposed to marry me, so am I obliged to inform him about this or not?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

 

There is no harm on you, Allaah willing, for not informing the person who proposed to marry you about these white marks which you have on your body. Even if these marks are not praised in some societies, they are not a deficiency or a fault that you must mention, as this does not normally repel a man from a woman who has this.
