All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
There is no doubt that it is forbidden to imitate the non-Muslims. The Prophet said: "Whoever imitates a people, he is one of them." [Abu Daawood] The scholars stated that it is forbidden to imitate the non-Muslims in things which are peculiar to them or which are one of their religious symbols. As regards things which are common between them and others, then there is no harm for a Muslim in using them, like clothes, beautifications and the like. For more details please refer to Fatwa 90753.
Therefore, there is no harm for a Muslim woman to beautify herself with things which does not contradict religion, and which does not cause harm to herself even if it is confirmed that these things are used by non-Muslims.
Allaah Knows best.
