Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

According to many scholars, immediate fulfillment of vows is not required, except in cases where the wording of the vow dictates an immediate fulfillment.

Accordingly, if you vow to slaughter a sheep or goat, for the sake of Allaah, during ‘Eed-ul-Adhhaa, intending to do it in the coming ‘Eed; in this case, it is an obligation upon you to slaughter in a timely manner. This is because you specified a time, and therefore, you are prohibited from postponing the fulfillment of your vow. The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: "Whoever vows to obey Allaah, let him fulfil his vow.”

However, if you did not specify a place for slaughtering the sheep, in this case, you may slaughter it in the place where you reside, and you are not required to go to Egypt. Nonetheless, if you specified the place of slaughter, apparently, you should fulfil your vow in the specified place. This is in accordance with a narration in which a woman asked the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ): “I vowed to slaughter in such and such place- a place where the people of the pre-Islamic era of ignorance used to slaughter-” he sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said, “Are you slaughtering for an idol?” She said: “No”.  He sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: “Are you slaughtering for a statue?” She said: “No”. Thereupon, he sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: “fulfil your vow.” [Abu Daawood]. Moreover, there is another narration wherein a man vowed to slaughter camels in Buwaanah, to whom the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said, fulfil your vow.” [Abu Daawood]

Zakariyyah Al-Ansaari may Allaah have mercy upon him from the Shaafi’ee school of jurisprudence said: ‘If one wows to slaughter and distribute, intending a specific place, other than the sacred sanctuary [of Makkah], he must slaughter in the specified place…or vowed to slaughter the udhhiyah (‘Eed’s sacrificial animal) in a specified place, he must slaughter and distribute in the specified place because distribution is also implied is his vow.

Ibn Qudaamah may Allaah have mercy upon him said: ‘If one implied benefiting the needy of a specified place [in his vow], by sending the meat to them, this becomes an act of worship that must be fulfilled, exactly as in the case of vowing to give a charity to certain people.’

Allaah Knows best.
