All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
Know, dear questioner, that the acceptance of ‘Umrah and other acts of worship, is in the hand of Allaah. Moreover, the servant can never be certain, or know for sure that Allaah has accepted his righteous deeds from him. This is because the acceptance and the rejection of deeds are both part of the knowledge that is hidden from us.
However, the believer should strive his best to do the righteous deed in the manner that was prescribed by Allaah, and then hope for the acceptance of Allaah, and fear that his deed may be rejected because of his sins.
In this regard, Allaah Says (what means): {And who do whatever they do with their hearts filled with fear that unto their Lord they must return; it is they who vie with one another in doing righteous works, and it is they who outrun [all others] in attaining to them!}[Quran 23:60-61].
In addition, the Prophet further interpreted, the aforementioned verse, by saying that it is referring to, “those who fast, pray, and give in charity but fear that this may not be accepted from them, it is they who vie with one another in doing righteous works.” [Ahmad, At-Tirmithi and Ibn Maajah]
