All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
It is desirable to utter Takbeer [Allaahu Akbar (Allaah is The Greatest)] when moving from one pillar to another pillar during prayer upon starting the movement. Ibn Qudaamah said: “…one should start uttering Takbeer when he starts to raise (his hands) and should end it while he ends raising…”.
Therefore, if a praying person intends to raise his head from prostration then he should utter Takbeer at the start of raising from prostration and should continue it till he sits, so that the Takbeer covers the entire action of movement. He should do the same in the Takbeer of Rukoo’; he should utter Takbeer while he starts moving to Rukoo’ and continue until he performs Rukoo’ properly.
Imaam Al-Kaasaani said: “… when he finishes his recitation, he should bow for Rukoo’ and should utter Takbeer while he moves”.
