My neighbour invites the neighbourhood women to gather and read either Surah Al-Muzzammil or Surah Al-Ikhlas or Darood Ibrahimi for certain number of times such as 1000 or 70 and such. Taking a Fee for Teaching Quran

If a Hafiz or religious teacher wants to teach Qur'an, can he charge fees for it? I read a Hadith that a Muslim who teach Qur'an is not allowed to take any fees for it whether Ikhlas or not.
