Assalamu alaikum. I work as a Japanese Translator. I translate finance related documents where sometimes i come across calculating interest once or twice in a month , is that make my whole salary haram? however I don't work in a bank where the profit is based on interest but a manufacturing company. If I calculate interest once in a month and after that giving that one day salary to poor people will make my salary remaining salary Halal? if not then isn't it permissible for muslims to work in a finance department?
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
As regards translating finance-related documents and sometimes translating calculations of interest once or twice a month, then these transactions of interest - as it appears from the question - have already happened, so translating matters related to them is not helping in Riba (usurious interest), so there is no harm in translating them and this does not affect the lawfulness of your salary.
Allaah Knows best.
