Asalamualaykum,The Prophet SAWS (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) passed by a pile of food and put his hand into it, and his fingers touched something wet. He said, “What is this, O seller of the food?” The man said, “It got rained on, O Messenger of Allaah.” He said, “Why did you not put it (the wet part) on top of the pile so that the people could see it? He who deceives does not belong to me.” According to other reports, “He who deceives us is not one of us,” or, “He is not one of us who deceives us.” (Narrated by Muslim).1) Is this hadith mutwatir(متواتر)or ahad hadith.Has great hadith scholars included this (actually I read many versions of this hadith which says He is not one of us who deceives us and somethimes their are slight differences and I want to know overall, weather taken together they are mutwatir or ahad) in mutwatir collection.I need this answer for educational purposes.Your earlier referring to the answer of this question does not help as that only explains this without saying weather it is mutwatir or ahadThanks
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
Some scholars stated that the Hadeeth that reads “He who cheats is not one of us.”, is a Mutawaatir Hadeeth, and As-Suyooti mentioned it in his book, "Qatf Al-Azhaar Al-Mutanaathirah fi Al-Akhbaar Al-Mutawaatirah" (page 196 number 73); as he said: Hadeeth: 'He who cheats is not one of us.'
Another wording of the Hadeeth reads "Whoever cheats us is not one of us.”
Most of the narrations of this Hadeeth indicate that this Hadeeth was said because of the food which the Prophet saw in the market, and its inside was wet...” [End of quote]
Then As-Suyooti mentioned the companions from whom this Hadeeth was narrated, and there were twelve companions.
Allah knows best.
